Project Background
Each year, hundreds of American families face
the tragedy of the death of a loved one serving in the Armed Forces. The
families left behind include parents, siblings, spouses and school age
children. In many cases, these families must rebuild a life that was once
devoted to military service but is now focused on surviving.
The
Tragedy Assistance Program
for Survivors, Inc. (TAPS), is a non-profit Veteran Service
Organization offering hope, healing, comfort and care to thousands of
American armed forces families facing the death of a loved one each year.
Through
Project
Linus: Providing Security through Blankets, the D.C.C.A.R. will
provide funds and handmade “Bravery Blankets” to the TAPS organization to
comfort those children who have lost a loved one serving in the Armed
Forces.
The
D.C.C.A.R. is “Honoring the Sacrifice” by remembering those who died for
their country AND comforting those who have sacrificed a loved one for our
freedom. |
