Patriot Day was signed into law on December 18th, 2001 as a day to remember those who lost their lives in the terrorists attacks on our country. On Patriot Day, Americans should fly their flags at half-staff and observe a moment of silence to honor those individuals who lost their lives as a result of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.

Re-enactors will march the entire 650-miles of the Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route from Newport RI to Yorktown VA from June to October 2006. They are following (to the extent possible) the same route and schedule as 225 years ago.  The march will pass through Washington, D.C. in September 2006:

Sept. 16    MARCH TO YORKTOWN - Bladensburg to Georgetown D.C.
Sept. 17-19  MARCH TO YORKTOWN - Georgetown to Mount Vernon VA and rest two days there

Oct. 14-15   Events in Washington D.C. to commemorate the 225th Anniversary of the Siege of Yorktown

Oct. 19-22   Events at Yorktown Victory Center, Yorktown VA, concluding a series of observances stretching over seventeen months from Rhode Island to Virginia.
